Met the country MD in NZ, before starting a formal interview process. I was originally introduced through the ANZ MD and that is how the meeting was set up. We sat down and he said "When someone hands a CV over my shoulder I usually push back, so can you tell me why I should hire you?" I stated my case and explained my interest in the role and went through the months of research and preparation I had gone through for this interview. Never heard back, he may just not have liked what I said or just didn't like being influenced into hiring decisions. I honestly felt like I was prepared for the Loop, I don't think I got a fair look in.
