First I've got on-line math reasoning tests. Then there was no reaction for 2-3 weeks. Then I've had a phone interview with HR lady - competency based; I've used STAR approach. Very professional and friendly. Then there was quite a pause for tho or three weeks.
In the meanwhile the job description was changed - from having direct reports to no direct reports. O.K., this is still amazon, job description is still interesting, so I'm in.
Then there was another call with the guy from product, who from my point of view, was extremely incapable of conducting interview. First of all he called 15 minutes late, he kept addressing me "man" all the time - which was really annoying; we were not chatting in a pub after all. Then he kept changing questions, so suddenly "explain it to me like high-level, man, like I do not have technical knowledge at all" was turning into "do the math, man, do the math". He had no knowledge of end-2-end BI project implementation in big companies (yes, It really cannot take 2 weeks to design the project, get approval, budget, resources and then implement it into data warehouse and all front-end systems for the company with 1 mil. retail clients).
Plus there was the case study which was not presented as case study, and from my point of view the phone is the worst channel to conduct a case study interview.
