Standard 3 part interview(livecode / hiring manager / loop). This is my second time interviewing for the BIE role. Made it through technical round / hiring manager round. Second time passing technical round, not hard to crack and interviewers are patient and helpful. Leetcode easy / medium. Loop is exhausting, I’d recommend splitting it between 2 days if you can. And have upwards of 15 good stories that represent LPs. Loop contained 1 simple sql livecode and 1 case study. I felt great about the whole loop and was honestly waiting to hear back that I got it. However, I received a rejection due to SQL, which honesty astounded me. I’ve been coding in SQL for years and passed both previous livecode interviews with Amazon and felt that the one in the virtual loop was the easiest. There’s still a part of me that thinks they gave the wrong feedback to the wrong candidate, because of all things the SQL portion of my interview was by far the least of my worries. Oh well. All in all, went through about 10 separate interviews with Amazon over the past year. And as much as I’d love to work there, can’t imagine going through all that again.

The interview process was smooth and conversational. The interviewer was calmly asking questions about my previous work experiences and listened patiently. He even gave me ample time to frame my answers.
