I did a phone interview (technical) with Amazon scientist (working there since 2016). First at all, the interviewer didn't follow the rules (unclear microphone and speaker from his side). So i spend some times to explain my answers twice or more or repeat the question that he asked to be sure that we are aligned. He firstly asked about my current industrial projects and how i contribute to them. I defined the problem definition, goals and how these projects are solved. He chose one project to challenge how i can propose different solutions through eliminating some input or changing the outcome. Then he asked basic questions about deep learning and machine learning approaches. Lastly he provided a real-case challenge and discussed with me about my prompt solution for better efficiency in time and performance. After the call, I got rejection in the next day by email: "Thank you for taking the time to speak with us. I wanted to follow up with you regarding that interview. After serious consideration, the Hiring Manager has decided to pursue other candidates for their role and will not be moving forward with your candidacy at this time."
