Me postulé a través de un reclutador. El proceso tomó 4 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Amazon en feb 2013
Entrevista
I applied through the Recruiter and got an email at the end of January for scheduling Two phone interviews. I postponed once as it got conflicted with one of my semester exams. On the rescheduled day I was contacted by the two interviewers promptly and here is what happened. Both the Interviews are technical in nature and I know that its my piece of cake as I am very strong in CS Basics.
First interviewer asked me of how I go about finding the element occurred odd number of times in an array where each element has occurred even number of times except one. I discussed the Hashtable approachh, Sorting approach and an XOR approach. He imposed many many constraints as I gave the approcahes such as my system cannot afford XOR or Not enough Space etc..He asked me to implement Sorting Approach and it was out of time. I was able to explain it by inplace sorting such as Quick sort and he asked me to send the code by 2 hours after the second interview. Since I did 't have time for Quick sort implementation. I took some code on Net for Quick sort and implemented my main logic of finding the odd element and sent him before the stipulated time. I felt that I did reasonably good(infact above Average) in my first interview.
The second interviewer is more cool and friendly. He asked me about Vector Datatype and I stumbled in that , I somehow covered wth array or some stuff. The second Question is how to go about Reversing a string. I also nailed it as I am prepared for it. He was also very satisfied with my approach. The third Question was a situational Question where He told that he has an application with almost billions of Web Pages and each web page may or may not contain a email Address. My application needs to be doing this in matter of milli seconds. How do you do it?
I gave many approaches as follows.
1. We can use Regular expressions to get the Email address very fastly from the Web Page.( He also appreciated my approach)
2. I secondly told to implemet Multi Threading to process the pages parallely.( Thsi also impressed hiim)
3 Thirdly I told him to divide the pages into bloack so as to reduce the number of requests between client and server for fetching web pages.
4. I also told him about the levels of pages to be brought so that once a page block is brog=ught and a thread is assigned to it the CPU mau actually go and brigmore pages so as to reduce the latency of communication.
5. FInally , if the Server is distributed, we can deploy the same code to many clients and complete the processing very fastly.
I asked for the feedback for both the interviewers and first one denied it and second one told me directlt that I did Very very well.. I waited for 2 weeks but I didn't hear from them. I mailed HR asking for status and in a couple of days I got a rejection.
I was puzzled to see the result after doing so well in the interview. I have no clue of what happened and completely disheartened . All my hard work went in drain just by a mall.
I AM LOST

One online assessment and one virtual interview included a coding round and leadership principle questions; overall, the process was fairly straightforward and not overly challenging for me throughout the experience.
2 rounds:
1st round: 3 behaviorals: Tell me about yourself, tell me about a time you used Gen AI, tell me about a time you faced a problem in one of your experiences
Leetcode similar to LRU Cache but a variant
2nd round: 3 more behaviorals; tell me about yourself, a specific experience in my internship, a time you disagreed with manager/peer on a project

Pretty difficult OA didn't need to get full score. One round technical interview with SDE. Interview was pretty easy, most people I knew at school and friends ended up passing the interview. Took about 1 month to hear back after interview
