Me postulé a través de un reclutador. El proceso tomó 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en AltSource (Portland, OR) en mar 2020

      Entrevista

I interviewed here in march of 2020, just as the pandemic was kicking off. I had previously been contacted about a year earlier by their head of recruiting looking to do something glassdoor considers a trade secret. It should have been a huge Red Flag #1 that this position was still open a year later. The hiring manager I interviewed with first was a friendly woman who echoed the recruiter’s business needs. It was all pretty normal, until they insisted I come onsite during a pandemic for a second interview. (Red flag #2) Red flag #3: I met with a white guy we'll call Male Employee so glassdoor will let me post this review. Walking through the open office to the conference room, there were white guys like at every desk. So much for diversity. Red flag #4: When I casually mentioned my current employer was already letting people work remotely due to the pandemic, Male Employee became visibly perturbed and announced “We will always be working onsite here no matter what!” Because only other companies get covid, right? Red flag #5: They have a low number of client(s) between zero and three that Glassdoor won't let me specify. If lack of job stability is what you want. Look no further Red flag #6: I was asked why I was interviewing for this job. I responded that I was contacted by their recruiter and I liked that the job posting mentioned I would be working on a goal oriented team without hierarchy or unnecessary politics. (This is not a trade secret, Glassdoor, as it is visible to everyone on the internet) Again, a visibly perturbed Male Employee informed me that there was no way I was contacted by their recruiter, the job posting did not say that, and company politics are a very important part of any business. Gaslighting FTW. Red flag #7: They use outdated tech that Glassdoor considers proprietary. They don’t see anything wrong with this and have no plans to change. Yikes. Red flag #8: The hiring manager suddenly shut down in Male Employee’s presence. Male Employee then informed me I was no longer interviewing for the original job Glassdoor considers a trade secret and instead I’d be answering trivia questions about his job that Glassdoor won't allow me to describe. He predicts I’m going to do poorly. Red flag #9: Male Employee. Male Employee is really into Male Employee. After a 90 minute interview that was supposed to be about job qualifications and experience, I now know more about Male Employee than 80% of my family members. Again, not a trade secret. Red flag #10: Out of nowhere Male Employee looked at the clock and said “All the developers here code around each other. Are you ready for that?” I questioned whether it might be better to collaborate instead and he responded that it was not possible and asked if I still wanted the job. I said yes, because obviously I wanted to see this train wreck play out. Red flag #11: As I was being walked out after the interview, the hiring manager sprung to life and told me I’d be contacted again by the recruiter I was previously told hadn’t contacted me. Male Employee thanked me for taking time out of my schedule to meet with them and finished it off with a dash of theatrical flair declaring “I would never be able to take that amount of time off from work!” Apparently Altsource won’t let employees take 1.5 hours of pto? Rough. Long story short, I got a very tactful and charming, yet strangely personal rejection letter. Seeing as I didn’t end up with covid, ptsd, and being laid off like many Altsource employees, I consider it a W. There are no names in this review. Please point out where I named an employee, Glassdoor? There are no trade secrets in this review. Please point out where I listed a trade secret, Glassdoor?
