I received an email inviting me to attend an in-person interview. During the interview, I was asked standard, generic interview questions, with little focus on the specifics of the role. It became clear that my experience far exceeded that of the newly hired manager, and the role itself did not match the original description. It was essentially an admin position, rather than what was initially outlined.
Additionally, for a role of this nature, the company offers no hybrid working options, requiring full-time office presence. The contract was for 40 hours a week with only a 30-minute break, which was not disclosed beforehand.
The building itself was old, rundown, and quite basic, which contributed to an overall environment that didn’t feel like somewhere I would want to work every day. The workspace lacked the kind of atmosphere and facilities I would expect for a full-time office-based role.
