Very extensive process, culminating with a 1.5 hour conversation with CEO.
1st Step: 30 min phone screening -- basic behavioral interview, but slightly less friendly and more focused on what other jobs you have applied to and the BREAD process. Supposedly 19,000 apply annually, so they cut a large portion after this.
2nd Step: 2hr in-person interview -- first half is a case: they give you a brief and you need to find two people to talk to in 15 minutes. After you ID the potential experts, you need to justify your choices, and have a mock phone call with one of the advisors. Key is to be confident, and convince them to take up your call with the client. On the mock call, try and play to the advisor's ego, and also employ curiosity to try and have the advisor acquiesce. Second half is behavioral: really light and conversational, judging to see if you could be a good culture fit, and team fit.
3rd Step: Skype Call with CEO -- quite intense interview in which he vets you about the value-add for clients, ways to persuade potential expert advisors to have phone calls, the BREAD process, and hypothetical cases. Basically, Max will quiz you on everything related to the core competencies of AlphaSights. Though the conversation was slated for just 45min to an hour, we talked for an hour and a half. Max was intimidating, but genuinely kind and respectful.
After the call, I was praying for a job offer. Though I received one, after talking with past employees and looking at the promotional track, I decided to go in another direction.
