I applied online and received and invite for a phone interview within 2 days. It was set up for the next week.
I spoke with a real person and she asked your basic interview questions. Be familiar with the STAR format. They like stories and to hear about results!
The next day I received an email stating I'm moving forward to a face to face interview. They called and it was set up for two weeks out. It was probably the longest but most thorough interview I've been in. The first part was typical, asking about myself and related work experience. Then they moved on the thr Allstate STAR questions. Come prepared with a few answers/stories to common questions.
I was interviewed by two men and they were very professional and engaging. Great interview!

Phone interview went well..Very Good experience with Allstates Recruiter.
An assesment that was fair but had two or three strange scenarios as to how to pick a scenario in which dept/teams would work more efficiently in claims processing. The rest of the assesment was general customer service handleing specific or personality test/Big Five like questions.
next step:
In person was Not so pleasant experience.. I knew i would not get this position..and happy to not get an offer, I would have rejected just by thevflow and interveiwers demeanor see why below. :-)
In all, I needed to practice STAR interviewing as I am naturally extra nervous in interviews and say things that are not well planned..even when planning the answers. Im also too honest..to a fault.
To me: the questions were not typical for an entry level position.. Which arised to "why" they called it entry level position.. I knew very little about the process, how can I answer at an entry level "what would you do if.." type situation. No answer from me would be correct unless I was familiar with their process or scripts.
to add: The Interviewers were late to the interview. Not really a big deal but I learned a lot from the really nice guard in the lobby during my 20 min plus wait.
I felt that of the two interveiwers, one of them was socially demeaning and a bit arrogant. Even though I know I am not great at interviewing, sometimes his words in a joking manner was targeted at making fun of something, and not making it easier,This really made the interview go from bad to I just want to run out yet not be rude, I stayed. I did not feel a good vibe of Allstate, considering the one particular interviewer came off arrogant. Of course this is my opinion amd hope others feel differently.
I also felt like, being an older applicant im not part of the culture. I believe the feeling i had was lacking in diversity and inclusive but again, if you are a younger applicant this maybe an isolated situation.

I applied on 6/6/17 and the same day received an email for a phone interview that I had on the 9th. After the phone interview I was sent an email for a link for an assessment. I took the the assessment passed and received an email that I passed right away. I then got an email a few days later to set up a face to face interview. My face to face interview went well and I had to do a mock phone call after the phone call I was invited back for a second interview in which I shadowed two employees and then met with the regional manager for literally all of five minutes and then received an email a few days later asking for my social and I got a contingent job offer which would be official after I passed a drug and background check. I passed both and was hired on 7/7/17.
