I am a newly graduated RN and passed my boards a few months ago. I applied online and heard back within a week to setup a phone interview with HR. The phone interview was about a week later and was roughly 20 minutes with basic interview questions (why did you want to be a nurse, tell me a time when you had to deal with conflict, etc). I then set up a second interview which was based off of when I was available (set it up the next week). I ended up meeting with two unit managers because I was interested in two different units. I was asked to wear scrubs to the in person interview so that I could shadow the unit after the interview. They were very nice and made me feel welcomed and not nervous. They only asked a handful of interview questions. I had been on a few interviews prior to this one and was offered a position at a different location. I waited a few days to hear back from AHN before I decided to email HR. I let them know that while AHN would be my first choice, I was offered a position at a different location and wanted to be assured that an offer was on the line before denying the other offer and to see if there was anything they could do to speed up the process. They got back to me within an hour with an offer. Between the start of the interview and my start date it takes about a month (due to offer letter, sign on, background check, drug/alcohol test, and physical). Overall I would say that I had an awesome and speedy experience with AHN.

Initial phone screen regarding expectations, floor preferences, etc, then an in person interview with manager(s) of floors you’re interested in. They also offer shadowing on the floor. Very straightforward, good experience overall.
