Laid back. Conversational type interview. Questions were blended in and were not very technical or difficult. Questions were weaved into the conversation. For interviewees, please be relaxed, honest, and ensure that you pay close attention to safety practices. Although grades play an important role in decision-making, if your resume shows a well rounded person this could work strongly in your favor. Be sure to casually/naturally highlight things that you have done to get you to where you are today. Every interview is different but showing that you value a team, that you are hard working and that you are rounded will work for you. If taken on-site, be observant and vigilant of practices and procedures and follow suit. It is good to have some knowledge on the company in terms of what products they make. Do not stress to understand the areas as this information will become a part of your training if you get hired. As long as you understand the general function of the location and know a few details about the market, this will work well for you. Also, how you interact with your peers will also be a part of your evaluation, or so it seems for many.

Entrevista
I applied for what I thought was an engineering internship interview on campus and submitted my resume through my campus's interview scheduling program. I was so excited when I found out that Alcoa had chosen me to interview and spent 3-4 days preparing for the interview (even missing work hours while at the interview). This would have been all fine had the interview actually been for the position I wanted, but midway through my introduction about my past research, the interviewer says that I'm not suited for the position and that I should apply for the engineering internship, as this interview was only for graduating business students to get a full time position in management. Somehow it not only slipped through the cracks to mention in the listing that this interview was NOT for engineering internships, but whoever screened resumes neglected to notice that I was neither a graduating senior nor a business student and therefore was not even qualified for the job they wanted. This whole experience leaves a bad taste in my mouth about Alcoa's hiring process and does not seem to bode well for other administrative issues.

Entrevista
I applied through an engineering career fair and was interviewed on the spot. I was then scheduled for two other phone interviews with hiring managers. The interviews were pretty standard, with standard questions. I think I sounded nervous over the phone interviews and I couldn't portray my true self. Also there was a time difference of one hour so I was expecting a call an hour earlier.

Entrevista
Fairly easy, Interview went very well. I asked a lot of questions I prepared from the website for the company and the recruiter seemed to really like the questions. I met with them at a conference for engineering and they interviewed me the second day. Be knowledgable about the company.
