I see quite a lot of negative experiences here so I thought I would share mine to help others make an informed view and have more visibility.
To date I’ve had a total of 6 interviews and completed the online assessment.
Round 1 - Recruiter. Personable and highlighted the recruitment process and expected timelines. Also very clear in terms of remuneration. Recruitment process and timelines all invalidated.
Round 2 - Peer interview.
Again, personable and candid. Discussion was industry based with some questions around “what can agoda do better scenarios”. Overall, a pleasant conversation with willingness to share experiences. A few concerns came up around lack of resourcing and internal pressures but nothing of critical concern.
Round 3 - Direct Manager (VP)
Case study interview. Very procedural.
Round 4 - Peer Interview.
Personable and free flowing conversation. More about specifics of the day to day job with a case study type question. Willingness to share insights and experience.
Round 5 - Completed online assessment. Can be completed earlier. SHL interactive online assessment 18 questions - 24 minutes.
Round 6 - 2 up interview Direct Manager’s boss (VP Level)
Friendly and conversational. Somewhat tangental. But provided more clarity into the nature of the role and expectations.
Round 7 - Another 2 up stakeholder interview (VP Level).
Cordial and enlightening. Opportunity to seek clarification on specific areas where questions have arisen from previous conversations. Quite granular. Also some additional questions about my previous experience.
It’s been 3 weeks since my last round . I’ve concluded that there is no offer forthcoming nor rejection despite having reached out to the recruiter who has chaperoned my interview process. Disappointing given the effort and time put in from both sides (~2.5 to 3 months). They have also recently reposted the role and downgraded it to an assistant director level.
Another thing to note is not one single interview started on time and a handful were rescheduled post submission of preferred timings. Nothing you can do about that stuff as day-to-day business gets in the way.
Good luck to those embarking on the journey. I hope you have more success than I did.
