Received a friendly email from recruiter a few weeks after applying for a senior role. Set up 1/2 hour screener.
From the start, recruiter seemed to be reciting a speech he had given numerous times to candidates - went through basic company info, etc., extremely quickly without seeming to try to make a personal connection. Just seemed to rambled off his memorised notes.
Not sure if they already had another candidate top of mind at the time of my interview, but I could sense his disinterest from the start - nothing seemed genuine, he seemed distracted, didn’t make eye contact (over Zoom), wasn’t actively listening and I genuinely think he was multitasking.
I hadn’t heard of the company beforehand but the posting interested me, so I wanted to learn more about the opportunity. However, the call completely turned me off. He said I’d hear back either way soon re next steps, and I did the next week via a standard rejection email. Honestly, feel like I dodged a bullet.
