I had high hopes for this company, having multiple friends working for Aerotek around the country. I was contacted one day after I had applied online. Of course, I reached out to my Aerotek-employed friends to get their perspective of the company they represent (overall, they had positive remarks about compensation, but terrible comments when it came to company culture, work/life balance, and management.) I thought to myself, "if they continue to work at Aerotek, having these opinions about their own workplace, it can't be too bad"...so I decided to go through with the interview process. First: phone interview - the girl I was talking to spoke about Aerotek for 7 minutes & then 29 minutes about her college experience, people she knows from my hometown, the most recent argument her and her boyfriend had, ETC. I could not believe that this was supposed to be a professional phone interview. After I had to bring to her attention the conversation was far off-topic, she let me know that they would like to bring me in for an in-person interview & day of shadowing. I accepted, though now even more skeptical about what Aerotek is all about. Second: in person interview/shadow day. I walked in to a morning meeting, not a single person was paying attention to the person presenting at the time or even showing interest in the topic at hand - - - THEIR ACCOUNTS! (Hellloooo, this is what makes you MONEY!$!$!$) A few young men in the company introduced themselves to me (in the middle of the meeting!), after I had heard them commenting on my appearance. I briefly spoke with a current recruiter before being brought into a small meeting room for the formal interview. Management was extremely unprofessional and down right immature, specifically two younger men (Interviewer #1 had blond hair,Interviewer #2 had ashy brown hair): legs spread, poor posture, leaned back in the chair, unprepared questions. Interviewer #2 had even BURPED while I was answering a question he asked, he didn't acknowledge it or excuse himself. I continued to act with poise and professionalism until I was done being interviewed, but did not stay for the half day of job shadowing. I knew 100% that this was not a company that I would be proud to represent & now understand why the turnover rate is extremely high & why the Chicago office has such a poor reputation around the city.
