The process at first was positive and moving fairly quickly. I had three separate interviews over the span of a few weeks. The first was your standard recruiter screening call. I was then interviewed by two of the design managers on the team, in which I was asked to share a portfolio case study (without any prior heads up). The interview went well and then ended up making it to the next round to meet with a director on-site at the HQ. I felt good about the interview and thoroughly enjoyed my conversation with the director. I continued to check-in for several weeks after this third interview only to be told "I was still being considered for the role" by the recruiter. I gave up on the follow up process and they eventually ghosted me for 2+ months after my third interview. I took multiple hours out of my busy work schedule to not only do a portfolio review but also drive on-site to interview in-person. They couldn't even bother to give me the time of day, which is such a slap in the face. Just from this interaction alone, I feel like I have dodged a bullet and thank Ace Hardware for making my decision even easier. I would not recommend this employer, solely for the fact that this interaction was disrespectful to myself and potentially other candidates.
