      Bad vibes all around. The initial scheduling email came in at 11:30 on a Saturday night, which raised questions about the company's work-life balance. Then the recruiter was about 10 minutes late to our call, and when she did join she was flustered because she had just received word that the scope of the role was changing, but that she couldn't tell me how. I asked if she'd like to reschedule so they had time to coordinate on their end, but she opted to continue with our interview. The interview started with her telling me about the interview process and what kinds of questions I would be expected to answer. I had to jump in to ask her to tell me about the job and the company's products. Then she asked me to talk about my career. I've never had a recruiter sit there with a skeptical look on their face for 20 minutes and try to poke holes in every sentence I spoke. But it seemed as though we had finally established some momentum at least. Then, toward the end, she mentioned that she had been slacking with the hiring manager during our call (???) and that "tenure" would be a very important qualification. I asked what specifically they were looking for, but didn't receive a concrete answer and was told she would have to "do some convincing" on my behalf (I had been at 3 companies in 5 years, which I guess is disqualifying for some reason). A couple weeks later, I got an automated rejection email as if we had never spoken, which honestly was a bit of a relief. Maybe it was just an off day for the recruiter. But I did not get the impression that this is a company with a good culture or a department that has a strong idea of what it wants to accomplish in hiring this role.
