Contacted by a recruiter for a digital interview. The digital interview by Hirevue had several questions about prior experience with tools and a few behavioral questions relating to team dynamics. Post this, I had a telephone interview with the hiring manager. He seemed interested in my background and soon enough, I was called for an onsite interview at Abbott Point of Care at Princeton, NJ.
The onsite interview was thorough and well structured. I had conversations with the HR Manager, the hiring manager and the VP. Throughout the process, the hiring manager spoke about tough deadlines and there were questions as to whether I would be able to handle that.
At the end of the conversation with the hiring manager, he said that I seem "too nice" to handle their "aggressive strategies" and the pace of their business. Although I was disappointed to not make the cut, I am now a bit relieved as the nature of the work sounded menacing and will not be devoid of politics and I would have never been able to thrive in that sort of environment.
Nevertheless, the experience with the recruiting team was splendid and professional.
Hiring process - Works better if your resume can be submitted through internal contacts. The process starts with a interview by HR recruiter and questions are mainly to understand your personality, background, experience and compatibility. Next step could involve a phone conversation with the hiring manager or it could be a direct face to face interview. Interviews could be with up to four people in the team or across teams. Case interviews are a possibility.
