Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en ASML (Veldhoven) en mar 2023

      Entrevista

1 - Screening call with HR employee: Talked about my work experiences, salary expectations, why I want to live in the Netherlands, and whether I'm also in a recruiting process with other companies, etc. 2 - Interview with a team member: (before this interview, I read the job description several times to absorb it, practiced the interview, and read a part of ASML's recent annual report to know about their financial situation, their value, mission, etc., and I visited their website. I used to know about this company, as I was also working in the same industry). The interviewer was a team member, who joined the company 2 years ago. He nicely talked about the job position and his previous experiences in different industries in different European countries. He asked about my current work experience and he also asked me what the "Corporate Real State" is (which was not stated in the job description). I also asked him my questions. One of my questions was "I read in ASML's annual report that ASML is making an effort to keep young employees for a longer time (because according to them, usually young employees switch the job frequently than more senior employees). So, I would like to know what kind of measures ASML is taking to keep young employees for a longer time. ". And then the interviewer got perplexed and asked me why I'm asking it. I said that I wanted to grow further in ASML. I also asked what ASML's culture looks like. And the interviewer got perplexed again and he asked me what I meant by "culture". He didn't know what kind of ASML culture has. I thought that the interviewer worked for ASML for only 2 years and was not totally engaged with the company. After this interview, I was supposed to have another interview with this team member's manager, but 1 week later I received an email from that HR employee that they decided not to proceed with me in the recruitment process, because that interviewer said that I didn't understand questions multiple times (his English was not that fluent, so I couldn't understand his English well during the interview) and hence had difficulty with the business case asked (there was no business case). And they also said, "[Interviewer X] got the idea that you have higher expectations of the job than it gives". I really appreciate the feedback that they gave me. But what I would like to understand is if the candidate shouldn't have higher job expectations. Around the same date I received this feedback from HR, I saw on the linkedIn page the same job position was recently posted with the same job description with the additional word "Corporate Real State" next to the job title. From this experience, I felt that the interviewer just didn't like that I asked him questions he couldn't answer. Overall it was an interesting experience. I had several interviews in the previous 12 years since I started working and this would be one of the experiences that I wouldn't forget. Bear in mind that it's very important to meet the right interviewer. That interviewer seemed a nice person, but probably he didn't like my questions and my strong desire to grow within the company.
