Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en APCON (Plano, TX) en jul 2018
Entrevista
Applied online and was contacted by a recruiter rather quickly. We discussed things like my background and my salary expectations and they deemed me a good candidate. Ran through a whole gauntlet of interviews via phone and Skype, then was invited to the Plano office for some face-to-face time. I did not get to meet the allegedly charming CEO. All went well, but it took a week for the recruiter to get back to me and ask how I felt about the interviews and the company. I was interested in proceeding and was told they were working on an offer for me, but suddenly my salary expectations were too high. I held firm to my expectations and was told he'd get back to me, but there was complete radio silence after that. I was asking for $3-4K above the range they were wanting. I understand companies need to stay within budgets, but I was told my salary level would be fine at the beginning of the process. If it never was, I would have appreciated it if they would not have wasted several hours of my time with multiple interviews.

Tell me about a time when you had a negative experience on a project and how did you deal with it?

The initial phone interview was wonderful: lots of questions about my background and what APCON did, and I felt really positive about a face-to-face interview. The technical and technical writer interviews also went well. Then an interview with management. Trust the negative Glassdoor reviews: this negging session wasn’t an interview. The “little writing test” sprung on me at the last second, consisting of documenting most of a brand-new app without compensation, was just an attempt to get work for free.

“Your writing sample shows a basic product description and then specifications. Why did you waste time on the description?”
