      Entrevista

I went to a hiring event that I found out about while shopping at Aldi. I got dressed up and brought my resume and application which I filled out prior to arriving. When I arrived I wasn't sure where to go. I found an employee and she directed me to the front where the District Manager was. He was sitting at a table with stacks of papers (applications), tons of them. Behind me stood 4 or 5 people all filling out applications in the store. I was called over to speak with the D.M. The conversation was very brief and basic information was asked of me. I.e. What am I applying for? Do I have reliable transportation? Can I lift 50 lbs? Do I want full time? Am I okay with being available the hours between 5 am and 11 pm to work. Those are really all I was asked at that time. I was told I would be called within a week if considered for an interview. A little less than one week later I got a call. I went in for the interview. It was very basic. Nothing personal, no tough questions. Most of the conversation was led by the D.M. again. He wasn't very personable. He informed me of the details of the position and also let me know I probably wouldn't be considered for the Shift Manager position right away even though I have years of mgmt experience elsewhere. He said that essentially I would just be brought in as a cashier and need to pass certain training criteria before being considered. He said shift managers only get paid more when scheduled as for those shifts. I told him I was okay with that and I was for the most part , okay with it. I was then told to go over my work history in detail. After this I was asked questions such as why did I leave my last job and asked if my previous employers could be contacted and told my job history would be pulled from the last 10 years. I was also informed that this was the first of up to three interviews and that there was a possible drug test which he said could be a urine analysis or hair analysis (really, is that necessary?!). I told him I was fine with that, no problem. I was again told that if I were to be considered I would be contacted within one week. One week passed and I didn't get a call back. Really not sure why and honestly I feel like it's just a catalyst for me to search for a better fit. Overall the interview process was a pretty good preview of what it would be like to work for Aldi. I hope this can help someone else out there. Good luck to all those searching for the perfect job/career)

      Entrevista

I attended a hiring fair where you have to drop off a hand written application (the only kind Aldi makes available). They call you in for a second interview in groups where you get a rundown of the store and then answer cookie cutter questions in front of the group. The third interview is one on one and where things went sour. The district manager was extremely negative in his demeanor and with his questions. Instead of asking for positive experiences in my work history, he focused on questions like: When was the last time you were late for work? Tell me about the last time you were written up. If I drug tested you right now, what would I find? The man was on a power trip and I wanted to just get up and walk out. At this point I felt like there would be no offer and that was fine by me. I'm glad I got a glimpse of how Aldi treats its employees before I became one.

      Entrevista

I attended a recruiting event at a local Aldi's. I met the District Manager and turned in my application. They were friendly and seem very honest. They answered my questions and explained that most employees start at the bottom but they can quickly get promoted from a cashier to a shift manager trainee in as little as two weeks. I was told that they would call me thw next day of they were interested in interviewing me. I received a call and set up my interview for three days later. Today is my interview. I will return withan update.
