My first contact was with a recruiter, then I met with the hiring manager out of Chicago. Since I would be working with payroll reps he wanted me to meet with the two payroll managers. I met with them and got their blessing. A few days later I met again with my future manager and he extended an offer. It was a professional three step process, not too drawn out.
