      Entrevista

      It started with me getting an email invitation to set up two interviews. I had no issues setting up the first interview but when I tried to set up the second interview there were no available time slots. The email was sent from one of those generic email addresses and did not have a signature, so I had no way of contacting anyone. The day after I got an email from the recruiter asking me to schedule the interviews. I explained the situation and was told that it was all in order. I assumed that the first interview would be with the recruiter, so I was surprised when the interview turned out to be with the hiring manager. I interviewed with the hiring manager, a lead from the same team, and a manager from another team. The hiring manager started the meeting by asking if I had talked to the recruiter and when I said "no" they got visibly irritated. When I asked who I would be reporting to, they said they did not know yet. They asked relevant questions for the role but I am a senior engineer looking to move into project management, and not a project manager, and the hiring manager was getting increasingly more irritated. I do not see how this was unclear as my resume says that I have over 10 years of experience as an engineer in increasingly more advanced roles. When I walked them through a risk assessment that I had conducted in my previous role, the hiring manager did not like the result of the assessment and took an adversarial approach. This is not a person I would want to work for so I withdrew my candidacy as soon as I got off the call. With that said, I do not think this person is representative of 3M and, even if they had a lot of experience, they only had a couple of years of experience at the company. The other people on the call had decades of experience working for 3M and they were knowledgeable, professional, and pleasant to talk to.
