About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Finance & Accounting Associate to join our growing Finance team in Mexico City, supporting the transformation and scaling of our finance operating model.
Upon joining, the Associate will be fully dedicated to the implementation of the ERP as our in-house accounting system, working alongside the Finance team to ensure a successful go-live. This is a hands-on execution role, the Associate will be a critical contributor responsible for functional configuration, testing, data migration, and process documentation across the GL, AR, and Tax modules.
Once the system is live, the Associate will transition into owning the full accounting close, AR / revenue accounting, taking over responsibilities currently managed by our external accounting provider. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Accounting and Finance, has 5–6 years of experience preferably from a Big Four firm, and brings a solid command of Mexican tax regulations, IFRS, and NIF. Experience in the financial sector (SOFOMs, fintechs, or banks) is highly valued.
What You Will Do
Phase 1 (Primary focus upon joining)
ERP Implementation
- Participate actively in the end-to-end implementation of ERP: chart of accounts setup, workflow configuration, module testing, opening balance validation, journal entries and reporting modules.
- Execute data migration tasks in coordination with the Finance team; reconcile opening balances against legacy records.
- Document accounting processes, internal controls and operational procedures for post-go-live operations.
- Coordinate with the current external accounting provider during the transition to ensure knowledge transfer and business continuity.
- Track implementation milestones and flag risks to the Finance in charge proactively.
Phase 2 (Accounting Operations. Post go-live)
Monthly Accounting Close
- Record monthly journal entries: accruals, provisions, amortization, FX revaluation, and other recurring journal entries.
- Support monthly close activities and financial reporting preparation
- Prepare monthly draft financial statements: Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Equity and Cash Flow.
- Prepare electronic accounting submissions in compliance with SAT requirements.
- Issue monthly invoices to investees for loan-related interest and fees; reconcile all revenue billing against the loan portfolio.
- Record AR loan receivables from the LMS/loan portfolio feed; maintain aging schedules and calculate ECL provisions monthly.
Tax Compliance
- Calculate and submit monthly ISR provisional payments and VAT / DIOT declarations.
- Validate and reconcile issued and received invoices (CFDI) via the SAT portal.
- Support annual tax return preparation.
- Work toward progressive ownership of internal tax processes.
Reporting & Other
- Support quarterly reporting packages submitted to global headquarters.
- Assist in external and internal audits: documentation and auditor requests.
- Support maintenance of Finance policies and internal controls documentation.
- Respond to ad hoc requests from the Finance AVP and the broader Finance team.
What You Will Bring (Skills & Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related. Hard requirement, profiles without an accounting foundation will not be considered.
- 5–6 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably at a Big Four firm
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS / Mexican Financial Reporting Standards)
- Experience in accounting close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting
- Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken)
- High ownership mindset with strong execution discipline
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; capable of managing complex datasets
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with changing priorities.
Nice to have:
- Experience within financial services, lending, fintech, banking, or regulated financial institutions
- Prior experience participating in a full-cycle accounting system implementation or migration experience is a strong plus.
- Experience supporting tax compliance processes
- Experience working with cross-border stakeholders
- Comfort operating in lean, high-growth teams where scope evolves rapidly and initiative is expected.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per month
