The European Investment Fund (EIF) is seeking to recruit for its Equity Eligibility Services Unit of the Equity Services Division, within the Investment Office, at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a Trainee –Digitalization and Process Automation.

Specific Post Environment:
The Equity Services Division is part of the Client Services Department, within the Investment Office. It is responsible for (i) monitoring the venture capital, private equity, private debt and infrastructure funds’ compliance with their respective investment policy requirements and (ii) collecting and handling the data related to their portfolio companies, including the design and implementation of controls over the related transaction data.
Overall objective:
Your overall objective will be to:
Automate and strengthen eligibility reviews of new EIF equity investees by implementing automated controls for data quality and eligibility requirements including size thresholds, geographic criteria and activity‑based restrictions.
Enhance efficiency of eligibility processes through workflow automation, external data quality validation and the use of AI‑enabled tools.
Responsibilities:
Under the guidance and close cooperation with the teams Senior Officers, you shall:
Support workflow automation and process improvement for eligibility reviews by designing and implementing data‑driven controls, including the automation of control testing workflows using analytics and visualisation tools such as Alteryx (preferred), Tableau, Power BI and Excel Power Query.
Perform analytical eligibility and data quality checks on new equity investees, leveraging external data sources and strong problem‑solving skills to support automated assessments to improve the efficiency and consistency of eligibility reviews.
Expected outcome:
Delivery of a meaningful automation or process improvement initiative within eligibility monitoring, resulting in a measurable efficiency or quality improvement. This includes the end‑to‑end design, implementation and documentation of at least one enhanced workflow, as well as the challenge and re‑thinking of existing processes.
Ongoing support to related teams and automation assets, including the maintenance and enhancement of existing Alteryx workflows and analytical solutions in related areas, contribution to cross‑team activities, and the proactive proposal of new ideas to improve processes and bring fresh perspectives to the team.
Qualifications:
University degree (or ongoing studies) in AI, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Science, Finance, Economics or another relevant discipline. Candidates may be enrolled in the final year of a Master’s degree.
Background in digital transformation and process optimisation, gained through academic projects or practical experience, with exposure to automation, analytics.
Practical technical skills in data analysis and automation tools, including Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI and/or Excel Power Query, combined with solid working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint) to support automated workflows and process improvements.
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Good command of another EU language would be an advantage.
