About the Team
The Quality team at the ZF SR plant is responsible for ensuring product excellence, customer satisfaction, and compliance with automotive standards such as IATF 16949. The team works closely with Customer Service, Engineering, and global technical centers to manage warranty processes and drive continuous improvement. It plays a critical role in analyzing field failures, reducing warranty costs, and maintaining strong communication with OEM customers. Collaboration across plants and regions is essential to ensure best practices and knowledge sharing.
What you can look forward to as Field Failure Analysis (Warranty) Engineer (m/f/d):
Lead and manage the Warranty Analysis laboratory, including Level 1 and Level 2 field failure analysis for returned brake products.
Drive structured problem-solving activities using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Ishikawa, ensuring full traceability.
Act as the main interface with customers, providing timely responses via email and OEM portals (GM, Ford, STLA, etc.).
Coordinate cross-functional teams and global engineering centers to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Monitor warranty data, generate reports, and drive cost reduction initiatives through data-driven analysis.
Develop and improve test benches, fixtures, and laboratory capabilities in collaboration with Engineering teams.
Lead regular warranty meetings and support Management Reviews with performance insights and KPIs.
Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO standards, and internal ZF quality, safety, and environmental policies.
Your Profile as Field Failure Analysis (Warranty) Engineer (m/f/d):
Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Warranty, Quality, or Customer Service within the automotive industry.
Strong knowledge of Field Failure Analysis processes (VDA standards) and problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Whys, Red X).
Experience working with GD&T and OEM customer portals such as GM, Ford, STLA, Daimler, or Nissan.
Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and quality management systems.
Advanced analytical skills, strong leadership capabilities, and ability to work under pressure with high organization.
Intermediate to advanced English proficiency with strong written communication skills in English and Spanish.
Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of Power BI; basic experience with electronic test equipment is a plus.
