Responsibilities

• Provision MySQL instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configurations
• Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases
• Work with the various Engineering groups and ensure database changes are in-line with operational standards and meet the strategies needed to scale
• Data Mining and Data Analysis.
• Prepare documentations and specifications
• Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
• Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

• Strong experience in writing SQL queries, Cloud SQL, procedures and functions. (Mandatory)

• Experience in administering MySQL replication, configuration, and deployment strategies (Mandatory)
• Should have experience in data modeling and database design
• Experience in scripting preferred (shell, Python, etc)
• Must be highly proficient in all aspects of database administration, including backup/recovery/replication, clustering, advanced performance tuning, and proactive monitoring
• Experience in handling databases as a service when production environments are in the cloud.
• Metadata management and repository usage
• Ensuring data integrity & Performance management and tuning
• General systems management and networking skills.
• Strong Knowledge with database architecture design, including data partitioning
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, different levels of data consistency
• Experience in any NoSQL database such as MongoDB is preferred.
• Expert knowledge in maintaining, building, supporting, tuning, and monitoring production in MySQL database servers.
