As a Latam Vertical Sales & Channel Developer, you will play a key role in the Transportation & Electronics Business Group by driving profitable sales growth, expanding market opportunities, and strengthening channel performance across Mexico. In this role, you will lead the execution of local commercial strategies by developing distribution channels, managing assigned accounts and territory, and aligning 3M solutions with customer and market needs.
This position is intended for sales professionals with solid experience in channel management, business development, and territory ownership. You will work with a high level of independence to achieve sales objectives, support distributor growth, identify new business opportunities, and build strong relationships with customers, end users, and channel partners. You will also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Customer Service, Technical, and other commercial stakeholders to deliver business results and improve customer experience.

Driving profitable sales growth through the execution of commercial and channel strategies that increase market coverage, strengthen distributor performance, and expand share in key segments
Building strong relationships with distributors, end users, and strategic accounts to identify opportunities, improve customer satisfaction, and create long-term business value
Leading cooperative growth plans with channel partners, including business development initiatives, sales activation, and market-facing activities that improve sell-in and sell-out performance
Monitoring business performance and adjusting commercial actions to improve results across sales, pipeline, receivables, inventory levels, and channel effectiveness
Primary Metrics
Growth above macro (OLCG vs IPI/GDP, OVG vs BCI)
Customer satisfaction (specific metric to be defined)
Accounts receivable / DSO
Owned and aligned spending vs. plan
Distributor performance indicators, including sales, sell-in / sell-out, market coverage, and inventory levels
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field, completed and verified prior to start.
Five years or more of experience in sales, channel management, distributor management, territory management, or business development.
Experience implementing commercial strategies and managing customer and distributor relationships with a high degree of independence with strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
Analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales and market data, prioritize opportunities, and make sound business decisions by demonstrating understanding of product lines, customer segments, customer needs, competitive offerings, pricing, and internal functional processes
Intermediate/advanced English level.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Channel sales or manufacturer sales experience.
Proficiency with computers, including basic PC software, online sales support systems, Salesforce CRM, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Proactive, results-oriented mindset with the ability to execute action plans and adapt to changing business conditions.
Ability to qualify and prioritize sales opportunities within the assigned territory.
Current, valid driver’s license required, as a company vehicle may be provided for this position.
Ability to work from established guidelines while applying sound judgment and seeking support when situations require additional expertise.
Ability to represent the company in a manner consistent with 3M’s business conduct standards and business unit expectations.
Experience in technical solution selling.
Effective pipeline and territory management.
Experience working in a matrix environment or large, complex organization.
Strategic thinking, innovation, and adaptability in addressing market challenges.
Experience collaborating across functions such as Marketing, Sales, Technical, and Customer Service.
Work Location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M office in Santa Fe, Mexico City.
Travel: Frequent National travels required as needed for distributor meetings and market activities. [80/20] [domestic/international]
