Mio Technology can't afford to fall behind the times. The electronics manufacturer makes and markets mobile navigation products including pocket pcs, auto and handheld navigation systems, GPS (global positioning system) phones, and GPS PDAs (personal digital assistants). The company is one of the top personal navigation device vendors in the world, along rivals Garmin and TomTom. Its operations are spread across Taiwan, China, Europe, North America, Australia, Japan, and South Korea, and it sells and markets its products (under both the Navman and Mio DigiWalker brands) in approximately 50 countries globally. Mio Technology was established in 2002 and is a subsidiary of MiTAC.
