About the role
As a UX researcher, you'll be the ears of our product team. You'll support our experienced researchers in uncovering the "why" behind user behaviours, helping us build products that truly make sense for people across Nigeria.
This is a role for someone who is endlessly curious about how things work and wants to learn the craft of research from the ground up. You'll play a vital part in our mission to bring financial happiness to everyone by ensuring our products remain simple, helpful, and relatable.
Key responsibilities
Assist in planning and carrying out qualitative and quantitative research studies (from interviews to surveys).
Take charge of research logistics, including finding and scheduling participants for studies.
Help facilitate interviews and usability testing sessions, capturing the key insights that matter.
Support the team in turning raw data into easy-to-understand reports and frameworks like journey maps and personas.
Maintain our research repository, ensuring our findings are organised and easy for the whole company to find.
Collaborate with designers and product managers to ensure research happens at every stage of the build.
Keep your finger on the pulse of new UX tools and methods, sharing what you learn with the wider team.
Qualifications
2–3 years of experience in UX research, market research, or a similar field where you've had to understand human behaviour.
A solid grasp of basic research methods (you know the difference between a survey and a deep-dive interview).
Comfortable using digital tools and keen to master new ones (like Maze, Typeform, or Google Forms).
Strong analytical thinking—you enjoy connecting the dots and finding patterns in information.
An interest in fintech and how digital products are changing lives in Africa.
Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced environment.
A background in social sciences, psychology, or design.
You have a strong desire for mastery and aren't afraid to ask "why" until you truly understand.
You look at problems from different angles and enjoy thinking of creative ways to get answers.
You are approachable and friendly. You know how to make research participants feel at ease so they speak their truth.
You take pride in being factual and organised. You ensure your notes are accurate and your data is clean.
You're excited about the Nigerian market and want to discover the unique ways our users interact with money..
Research projects run smoothly because the logistics and participant recruitment are handled proactively.
You become proficient in conducting foundational research sessions independently within your first 6 months.
The research repository is kept up-to-date, making it a "source of truth" for the product team.
Stakeholders consistently praise the clarity and helpfulness of the research documentation you assist with.
Please submit a resume highlighting your research experience and outlining research methodologies, processes, and the impact of your work on user experience and business outcomes. Optionally, you may also include a PDF portfolio with case studies that further illustrate your research approach and results. While a portfolio is not required, it can provide additional insight into your end-to-end research thinking and influence on product direction.
