Ventajas

- Beautiful working environment, especially at HQ in Geneva - Some wonderful, motivated and interesting people in lower and middle-positions - Travel to some amazing places - Ability to meet world leaders in a variety of fields - If you play your cards right or go in with specific objectives, this can help your career

Desventajas

- Climate of fear around the omnipotent chairman/founder, whose decisions are never questioned, even when (as is increasingly the after 4 decades in power) they make no sense - Frequent bullying of junior staff by the upper ranks - Heavy on bullshit-jargon that masks needlessly complicated processes or toothless initiatives - Constant self-reinvention (in theory only, this is purely the Emperor's New Clothes) creates unnecessary stress, malignant competition and fiefs - Managing Board members are either coasting and uninvolved or actively incompetent - Actions do not match expressed values (such as gender parity or ethnic representation, neither of which are on display in the upper ranks) - Small coterie of unqualified old-timers who create blockage - Job descriptions are often extremely misleading: overqualified staff hired for menial jobs which leads to high turnover - Little room to grow - Internal leadership program (Global Leadership Fellows) is a waste of time

Ventajas

This organization is constantly evolving but I think generally in the right direction. Great place for those who strive in unstructured environments.

Desventajas

Hours can be long and you have to enjoy travel.
