Ventajas
The team at STB are welcoming and inclusive, from interview to starting my internship. STB ensured my neurodiverse and allergy support requirements were in place prior to the start date as well as any additional support needs I required during my internship.
Through a diverse schedule of tasks and tutorials, I learned about the role of marketing in promoting translation and translation-related services. I felt comfortable asking questions about what I'd learned during tutorials on marketing-related areas, such as content creation and newsletter distribution, as well as aspects of translation – and asking for clarification on any assigned tasks.
I completed a variety of structured activities directly related to Marketing, including but not limited to:
• Preparation of a script and recording a vlog about my internship experiences
• Content creation for social media platforms
• Social media post scheduling
• Website content drafting
• Running queries in translation management software
• Responding to adverts
• List compiling
• SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) to increase online presence
• Attending webinars.
I have learned about the essential link between Marketing and Translation and key aspects of Translation itself through these tasks whilst acquiring a variety of transferable professional skills, such as:
• Improving productivity using Office, Outlook and professional instant messaging software
• Improving time management through daily and weekly task prioritisation, using a spreadsheet to record tasks and track progress
This internship as a Marketing Assistant at STB has inspired me to consider a career in Marketing. Equally, it has inspired me to continue pursuing a career in translation after graduating.
Desventajas
I have no cons to share; my time at STB has been extremely beneficial overall.
