Ventajas
this was a wonderful place for nearly 4 years. I made great connections and really felt a part of the campus culture. There were plenty of professional development opportunities and the college really values cross-departmental collaboration. If you have a great idea that brings value to students or the college they support that more often than not.
Desventajas
There is a lack of uniformity in rules for WFH and flexing your time amongst student affairs directors and deans. One department may allow a work from home schedule or allow you to flex time for mandatory extended hours and after hours events and other do not. Be prepared to work more than 40 hours. This is unfair to those who are making less than $55k/year who often need to work a second job just to make ends meet. Speaking of which the pay is definitely less than other community colleges in the Denver Metro area. The biggest problem is when you and your supervisor don't' see eye to eye. If you question authority, try to push back on unfair policies or even against a hostile work environment created by management HR will never take your side. They'll always take the side of the staff member higher in rank. You'll be left feeling like you're the bad guy in the situation every time.
