The staff mini bus was helpful.

Desventajas

I worked at this company for a very short period as a Facilitator and left after two days due to my experience. During my time there, I found that there was limited clarity around expectations for the role and how support workers were integrated into the wider team. Communication was very limited , and there was no structured guidance provided at the start, which made it difficult to understand day-to-day responsibilities. Given the nature of the role in a college environment, I would have expected a clearer induction process and more consistent communication regarding safeguarding procedures, responsibilities, and team working practices. Based on my brief experience, I would encourage others considering similar support roles to ensure they are comfortable with the level of structure and guidance provided. This reflects my personal experience over a short period of employment.

Ventajas

The joining process is very efficient. They will make you spend your first few weeks undergoing intensive training sessions which will prepare you for the role. Most staff are nice, albeit sometimes blunt. You do get some perks, there is no private healthcare, only private insurance so you can reclaim some prescriptions or eye tests.

Desventajas

The glitz very quickly wears off once you see how they treat staff and the facilities provided to them. The Bistro and student areas are not representative of the whole facility, especially areas staff work in away from students, most of these places are run down and poorly maintained, some even have no heating such as the toilets and halls in the office buildings. Staff often do not get private lunch breaks, or any breaks, at all. You are expected to be with students at all times, which is not really acceptable. We should have some down time at points in the day, again this comes down to staff not really being treated with that much respect by upper management. There is also a rather unhealthy attitude towards the work being the soul focus of your life while here. They do not tolerate any sick leave, even with a doctors note, staff are "encouraged" to come in at least ten minutes early. Overall, the place feels as if it is moving away from a charity and school towards being a business. Most people work here because they want to help others, but the upper management seem to forget that and treat us like we have no choice but to work here, as we are not qualified enough to get a job like them. Most people working here could easily complete an office qualification and stop doing their roles and work somewhere with a far greater income and work/life balance.
