Ventajas
The Pros outweigh the Cons, and the general feel of working in a High School environment is fun. The culture is diverse and offers many interesting points of view and varied backgrounds. The teaching staff is great! This position offers a unique opportunity to observe and learn from excellent teachers while being available to students. The intrinsic reward of having a positive impact on students who may not always get positive reinforcement regularly keeps me here.
Desventajas
The only true "Con" involves pay. I assume that pay is comparable to other employers for this position. This has been my only experience within the education system, so I don't have much to compare. While it is not a requirement, many in this position have advanced degrees and vast experience which is evident in their daily interactions with students. It would be great if the monetary reward reflected that.
