One of the biggest advantages used to be that they paid often and they paid on time. They've never exactly paid the most, and most of the transcribers have major problems with the most basic English, but I was willing to ignore that part and slave away for the extra money till I could get on my feet. Ever since August started, there have been payment delays. When I mean payment delays, I mean payment has been delayed EVERY WEEK since the beginning of August. It is now the 21st of August and I'm waiting again for last week's payment. Tried to contact support. Nothing. Senior management in particular has remained mum on the situation. Thankfully, the first two weeks were paid EVENTUALLY, but whatever trust I had has long been eviscerated. I don't know about their in-house staff, but they are not communicating with freelance editors and transcribers. They sent one email recently that they were having banking issues, and that their 'business remains stable'. Well, if your business is stable, then why are payments being delayed so often and the staff being silent about it? I have a theory that the company has taken a hit with AI and garbage transcribers who struggle with speaking and writing English, but they're afraid to say anything because apparently saving face is better than communicating with workers. I have another theory that this has been happening since last year, although I will not elaborate on why. All I can say is that if you're working here, especially full time, start looking for jobs immediately.
