Ventajas
- some departments are very interesting to work in, with extremely high-tech projects - technical challenges that may be very rewarding and fulfilling - on average, colleagues are helpful and smart. A lot of interesting coffee talk going on - relatively good work/life balance if you are assertive, but then forget about promotion
Desventajas
- office politics to keep things OK on the surface for the managers has priority over addressing design issues - company got more and more bureaucratic over the years and is now less pleasant to work in. First signs of 'rat race', 'not my problem', 'talk behind back to make me look better' culture typical for soulless corporations. - core issues with the company haven't been addressed for years (company bloat, no resources to properly onboard new employees, no action to improve collaboration between teams) - a recent management 'solution' to improve work planning is universally despised by almost everyone - middle management is extremely detached from the teams - speaking up may get you in trouble. Default answer for raising a concern is: 'this is how this company works' and you are expected to accept it. - really difficult to get recognized and promoted - bell curve-based employee appraisal with the most ridiculous yearly salary increment system I ever saw. You can get good yearly appraisal and get literally 0 raise - more and more burnout cases
