Why I was out of work for so long before applying to Rackspace

I wasn't fully sure on how to explain my reasons, but I think that It was my fault because I was not prepared, however the understanding of the interviewers helped me move on from the question after giving my answer the best I could at the time.

The key in these questions is to cover the fundamentals, and be ready for the back-and-forth with the interviewer.
