The phone call I received from the HR person was aimed solely at finding out my salary expectations. I mentioned I wasn't comfortable discussing salary so early in the process, and she said she would refuse to forward my application to the Hiring Manager because of this. It seemed like a narrow-minded hiring approach, so I didn't pursue this opportunity further.
