They asked me if I could either work 24 hours a day every other day for 3 days a week or 12 hours per day 6 days a week. This was for a salary job so there wouldn't be any overtime pay, the modest salary would be ok for a 40 or 45 hour week, but no way a 72 hour week.

Their job advertisements looked like scams written by Nigerian spammers, but no, it is a real company, the scam seems to be working you to death 72 hours per week for a moderate salary. I said that I could not work a continuous 24 hours but could do the 12 hours for 6 days, but then I came to my senses and kind of lost enthusiasm for the rest of the interview, not refusing work, just not being the best applicant.
