The time I have been proactive was when I was in school. I wanted to challenge myself and accomplish more GCSE's than my peers to make me stand out. I did this by studying Music and Art outside of school in my own time and discussed this with the teachers to see if this was possible. At first they said no because it would be too much, however, I kept asking and they agreed I could do this aslong as I had regular meetings with them on my breaks to see where I was up to. I would go home, complete my homework for my other subjects and study and draw for atleast 3 hours every night for 3 nights of the week. At the end, I passed these GCSE's with a grade C in each (This was the highest I could get for they where classed as foundation for I wasn't getting the amount of learning time that others where).
