How would you identify fake profiles?

On a small scale, take profiles users report as fake and see if there is an existing page to see if one is more developed than the other, like more friends in general, more friends who have mutual friends with each other, pictures posted and their dates to see if all pictures were posted at the same time, photo search to see if photos were stolen, creation date to see which is newer. On a large scale, put in a system to flag profiles that display the activity above.
