First, I believe it is important to have a lead or supervisor at each site so there is some type of on-site leadership. I also rely on that person to communicate needs and issues bidirectionally so they are handled promptly. Even though I cannot be there physically every day, I schedule regular meetings with staff and physicians to discuss bigger-picture issues.
