In a kindergarten classroom, different ability levels are very normal, especially in language learning. I handle this by using differentiated activities and flexible grouping. I usually plan one main learning objective, but I prepare different levels of support so every child can succeed. For example, I use visual aids, songs, and movement so lower-level students can understand through actions and pictures, while higher-level students are encouraged to use more language, answer full questions, or help demonstrate activities. I also use pair and small-group work so students can learn from each other. I closely observe the students and adjust my expectations, giving extra encouragement or extension activities when needed. My goal is that every child feels confident, included, and successful, even if they are learning at different speeds.
