They provided the code sample, tokens, as well as an AWS account and let me get to work. It was really open-ended so I decided to try on-the-spot CodeBuild/CodeDeploy. I didn't get around to deploying it with, for example, ECS, but I think it was a great question. I also ran into issues with building the actual underlying container for the code, as some gems needed system packages. However, walking them through the issues felt like a normal day at work in my previous role.
