Do your best. Unfortunately I don't know what went wrong with mine, but I would say don't really bother: maybe they wanted to see BDD, but not TDD, maybe they love FP and hate OOP, maybe you must use some kind of DI approach to impress them... Or maybe they obsessed with minimalistic code. Maybe it's better to read reviews of this company on this site and reconsider?

Very strange and arrogant behaviour the like of which I have never seen before - they must have found the software version of creating gold in alchemy and they don't want the secret to get out. To receive no feedback on the basis, that heaven forbid, you might give somebody else a hint of what magic they are looking for. I am far from a religious advocate for any programming style or pattern and am flexible to the needs and skills of any team and company - to just be discounted with no discussion about why you did the exercise in a specific way and did you (or would you) consider other options - because for some (unknown) reason you don't fit the identikit of what they want. What that profile looks like remains a mystery, as they wont even tell the recruiter a: they wouldn't understand and b:they might let on to the candidate (and you wouldn't want that!!) It just feels like dodging a bullet - because to work in such an inflexible and rigid environment, where you have to fit in a box and are not aloud to think outside of said box, must be hell on earth.

Feels like time to stand up against the madness of companies like this and their desire to waste candidates time and emotional energy. If they know what they want, read the darn CV - does it say you do that? (Hint: people usually put what they have done in it :-)) If not then don't waste my time. If it mentions what your are looking for then just ask a few questions over the phone to clarify if it is true (my guess is an obsession with TDD or BDD coupled with some MVC and DDD - but don't tell anyone I said that). Again, if it doesn't match up then don't waste my time just to massage your own importance - nobody minds being told up front that you don't have the experience, but I for one am sick of companies wasting my time to tell me that I don't have what I never said I had.
