We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer (Contract) to join a long-term engagement with one of our key clients, one of the world's largest FinTech companies.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced cloud professional with deep expertise in AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes, cloud security, and modern big data platforms. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud environments that power mission-critical applications and data workloads.

This individual will have a major impact on a high-profile project in the banking and financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure within AWS.
• Build and manage cloud-native solutions utilizing AWS services including EC2, S3, ECS, RDS, VPC, and IAM.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform to automate provisioning and environment management.
• Deploy, manage, and support containerized applications using Kubernetes and cloud-native orchestration platforms.
• Collaborate with engineering, data, security, and operations teams to deliver reliable and scalable cloud solutions.
• Support data ingestion, processing, and streaming workloads using platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or similar technologies.
• Implement cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, key management, secrets management, and network security controls.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation initiatives.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Participate in architecture discussions and provide technical guidance on cloud engineering best practices.

Required Experience

• 8+ years of hands-on experience as a Cloud Engineer
• 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and managing AWS cloud environments, including EC2, S3, ECS, RDS, VPC, and IAM.
• 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration technologies in production environments.
• 3+ years of experience working with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or similar technologies supporting data ingestion, processing, and streaming workloads.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including strong Terraform expertise.
• 3+ years of experience implementing cloud security best practices, including IAM, role-based access controls, encryption, key management, secrets management, and VPC/network security.
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation processes.
• Strong understanding of highly available, resilient, scalable, and cost-optimized cloud architectures.
• Experience troubleshooting and supporting distributed systems in production environments.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in financial services, fintech, or other highly regulated environments is a plus. AWS certifications are a plus.

Additional Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Must be based in the United States and authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Pay: $100.00 - $110.00 per hour
