Duties

• Prepare a variety of sushi offerings, including rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and specialty dishes with precision and artistry
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene in all work areas
• Source fresh ingredients daily and manage inventory to minimize waste
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new sushi recipes and menu items that excite our guests
• Educate and train junior staff on sushi preparation techniques and presentation standards
• Ensure consistent quality control for all dishes served, adhering to established recipes and plating guidelines
• Manage kitchen workflow efficiently during busy service hours to deliver timely orders without compromising quality

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar culinary role specializing in Japanese cuisine
• Strong knowledge of sushi ingredients, techniques, and presentation styles
• Culinary experience with an emphasis on seafood handling and knife skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent classroom management skills for training junior staff or conducting culinary demonstrations
• Passion for culinary arts with an eye for aesthetics and innovation in food presentation
• Experience working with diverse teams and managing multiple tasks simultaneously
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation standards applicable to sushi preparation
