Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Workers' Compensation Case Manager to join our legal team. The ideal candidate MUST possess a strong understanding of CALIFORNIA workers' compensation law and demonstrate exceptional organizational and communication skills. This role involves managing cases from inception to resolution, ensuring compliance with legal standards while providing support to clients throughout the process.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of workers' compensation claims, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Conduct thorough interviews with clients to gather necessary information for case management.
• Perform legal research and document review related to workers' compensation cases.
• Maintain organized case files using document management systems, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.
• Collaborate with medical professionals, employers, and insurance adjusters to facilitate effective case resolution.
• Draft legal documents, correspondence, and reports related to case progress.
• Utilize legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw for case preparation and strategy development.
• Provide executive administrative support, including scheduling meetings and maintaining calendars.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, and more as applicable to specific cases.
• Assist in litigation processes by preparing necessary documentation and supporting attorneys during hearings.

Qualifications

• Paralegal experience or equivalent legal administrative experience is required.
• Strong understanding of workers' compensation law is essential; knowledge of personal injury law is a plus.
• Proficiency in project management and organizational skills to handle multiple cases efficiently.
• Familiarity with MERUS CASE is preferred.
• Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; proofreading abilities are crucial.
• Strong research skills for effective legal analysis and problem-solving.
• Experience with document review processes and data entry tasks in a law office environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality while managing sensitive information.
• Strong phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for client interactions.
