Job Objective:
We are looking for a Senior Solution Architect with 7+ years of experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale systems across cloud, distributed, and hybrid environments. This role bridges deep hands-on engineering with executive-level technical leadership, guiding cross-functional teams through complex architecture decisions while staying close to the code.
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with technical credibility — someone who can sketch an architecture on a whiteboard in the morning and review a pull request in the afternoon.
Responsibilities:
Architecture & Design
- Define end-to-end solution architectures for complex enterprise systems, ensuring alignment with business goals, scalability, security, and performance requirements.
- Create and own architecture blueprints, technical roadmaps, reference architectures, and design patterns.
- Lead technical design reviews and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), driving consensus among engineering leads.
- Evaluate trade-offs across build vs. buy, on-premises vs. cloud, monolith vs. microservices, and synchronous vs. event-driven patterns.
Hands-On Engineering
- Actively contribute to codebases — prototype solutions, write proof-of-concept implementations, and validate architectural patterns through working code.
- Perform deep code reviews on critical components; set and enforce engineering standards, coding guidelines, and best practices.
- Design and implement integrations across systems using REST, GraphQL, gRPC, messaging queues, and event streaming platforms.
- Champion test-driven development, continuous integration, and DevSecOps practices across teams.
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Design multi-cloud and hybrid cloud solutions on AWS, Azure, and/or GCP with a focus on resiliency, observability, and cost optimization.
- Architect containerized workloads using Kubernetes, Helm, and service mesh technologies.
- Define infrastructure-as-code (IaC) strategies using Terraform, Pulumi, or CDK.
AI / ML Development & Integration.
- Architect and deliver end-to-end AI-powered systems: from data ingestion and model serving to production deployment, monitoring, and feedback loops.
- Design and implement LLM-based applications using frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar — including RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, and context management strategies.
- Integrate AI/ML capabilities into existing enterprise systems via APIs and microservices, ensuring reliability, latency, and cost-efficiency at scale.
- Define MLOps architecture: model versioning, experiment tracking (MLflow, Weights & Biases), CI/CD for ML pipelines, and automated retraining workflows.
- Evaluate and select AI infrastructure components: vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector), embedding models, fine-tuning strategies, and GPU/TPU resource provisioning.
- Apply responsible AI principles: bias detection, explainability (SHAP, LIME), model governance, and compliance with emerging AI regulations.
- Stay current with frontier AI research and translate relevant advances into practical product opportunities (multimodal models, agentic frameworks, reasoning architectures).
Core Requirements:
- 7+ years of progressive software engineering and architecture experience, with at least 4 years in a solution or technical architect role.
- Proven track record delivering large-scale distributed systems to production (SaaS, B2B, or enterprise platforms).
- Experience leading architecture on projects with 5+ integrated systems or 50+ person engineering organizations.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in at least two backend languages: Java, Go, Python, .NET, Node.js, or Scala.
- Deep knowledge of distributed systems: CAP theorem, eventual consistency, saga patterns, CQRS, and event sourcing.
- Strong cloud expertise on AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP — certifications are a plus.
- Mastery of API design, system integration patterns, and data modeling across relational, NoSQL, and streaming stores.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes at production scale.
- Familiarity with security architecture: zero-trust, OAuth 2.0/OIDC, secrets management, encryption.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying AI/ML systems in production: LLM orchestration, RAG architectures, vector search, and model serving (TensorFlow Serving, TorchServe, vLLM, or similar).
- Proficiency with AI/ML frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, or LlamaIndex.
- Experience with cloud-native AI services: AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, or Vertex AI; and managed LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini).
- Native AI user: daily, fluent use of AI coding assistants and LLM APIs to design, prototype, and document; sets the team standard for responsible AI-augmented engineering.
Preferred:
- Experience in domain-driven design (DDD) and applying bounded contexts to large codebases.
- Deep background in data engineering, ML infrastructure, or real-time analytics platforms (Spark, Flink, dbt).
- Research-level familiarity with transformer architectures, fine-tuning (LoRA, QLoRA, RLHF), and agentic AI frameworks (AutoGen, CrewAI, LangGraph).
- Familiarity with TOGAF, C4 Model, or other enterprise architecture frameworks.
- Cloud certifications: AWS Solutions Architect Professional, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- AI-specific certifications or publications: NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR papers, or equivalent peer-reviewed contributions.
- Experience in regulated industries: fintech, healthcare (HIPAA), or government (FedRAMP) — especially applying AI governance and model risk management.
