This International Women’s Day, we’re bringing you hashtag#WomenWhoLead, a series that captures the journeys of women leaders at PhonePe who are building and growing in a world that never stands still. Our first story features Rachna Pande, Head of Decision Sciences, Trust and Safety at PhonePe. Rachna leads a high-impact team that evaluates hundreds of millions of events every day to keep our platform safe and seamless for customers. In the past year, her team has reduced blocks by more than half ensuring a safe and seamless experience for customers. She believes, “Leadership is a creative process. It is iterative, non-linear, and messy. There are days where everything clicks and others that simply challenge adaptability. My goal is to stay curious and bring a sense of playfulness to work every single day.” Her advice to young women, "Trust yourself before you ask others to do the same. Intellectual curiosity is often as valuable as years of industry experience."

A strategic collaboration between the Department of Telecommunications, India (DoT) and leading digital payment platforms, including PhonePe, has successfully averted potential financial fraud amounting to Rs 200 crore. Utilizing the DoT's Fraud Risk Indicator (FRI) platform, the joint effort has led to freezing of more than 10 lakh accounts and the blocking of more than 48 lakh suspicious transactions. During a presentation to Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the inaugural session of India Mobile Congress (IMC), Rahul Chari emphasized the platform's effectiveness, stating, "The DoT has been able to save more than that in the potential financial loss to consumers in just three-four months prior to the launch." This powerful public-private partnership is a clear demonstration of a proactive and unified approach to protecting consumers and securing India's digital economy. hashtag#PressRelease hashtag#CyberSecurity hashtag#DigitalPayments hashtag#FraudPrevention hashtag#FintechIndia hashtag#DoT hashtag#KarteJaBadhteJa
